It looks like the rumor mill got the facts right once again: T-Mobile announced that it will be adding the LG Optimus L9 to its Android lineup for anyone who wishes to take advantage of its unlimited 4G wireless service

In case you aren't familiar with the LG Optimus L9 yet, think of it as the Optimus L7's big brother. As such, it packs a bigger, 4.5-inch display (540 by 960 pixels) and sports a body following the same contemporary design principles, such as the rectangular look in combination with a slim profile. The chip doing all the processing is of the dual-core kind and runs at 1GHz. On its back resides a 5-megapixel camera coupled with an LED flash, which is capable of recording 1080p video while shooting full-res photos at the same time. A 2,150mAh battery provides the power needed to last you through the day.

On the software side, Android 4.0 ICS comes pre-loaded, with the usual for LG visual tweaks. In addition LG QuickMemo has been thrown in, for instances when users need to write down a quick note, as well as SmartShare, which is an app allowing content to be shared wirelessly over DLNA.

The LG Optimus L9 is scheduled for launch this fall, although a more specific launch date has not been revealed yet. Pricing is also to be announced at a later date.
