Configurations for the upcoming Surface Pro 7 leak with Intel inside
Microsoft will be holding its next Surface event on October 2nd and we expect to see the Surface Pro 7 unveiled at that time. Late last month, some specs for the high-end tablet leaked out revealing that all of the new models could ship with support for 4G LTE connectivity. The report also mentioned that some units will be powered by 10th-generation Intel Core processors and others will have the Snapdragon 8cx chip under the hood. Manufactured using the 7nm process (like its current flagship Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform used by high-end phones), the chip is equipped with the Snapdragon X24 modem chip supporting LTE download speeds up to 2Gbps. Other changes we could see with the newest Surface Pro include thinner bezels and a slightly flatter design.

Today, Germany's WinFuture released (via TechRadar) the Surface Pro 7 configurations for markets in Europe. This information came from dealers that will be offering the device on the continent and apparently contradicts the earlier rumors about the use of the ARM equipped Qualcomm chips and possibly the 4G LTE connectivity. According to the report, the Surface Pro 7 models coming to Europe will include:

  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7, Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
If this is legit, Microsoft is opening the door for those interested in a more affordable version of the Surface Pro 7 to pick one up. Keep in mind that any speculation about the configuration, and even pricing, is just that-speculation-until Microsoft makes the seventh-generation Surface Pro official in a bit less than three weeks.
