Sony posts infographic explaining when to expect the next major Android update for your Xperia phone
Sony Mobile is among the first smartphone brands to provide Android 8.0 Oreo to one of its products, the Xperia XZ Premium. However, if you don't own Sony's flagship, you probably wonder when exactly your phone will receive the highly-anticipated update.

For that matter, Sony Mobile wanted to give fans a heads up on when they can expect to receive a major Android update on their Xperia phones, chronologically speaking.

An infographic posted on Sony's official blog explains the process of bringing a new Android update to Xperia devices. We get to learn how Android software moves from Google to Sony Mobile, and then to Xperia users in the real world.

It might not offer us specific release dates, but at least it gives us an idea of how long is the process of moving Android Oreo from Google to Xperia devices, and follow the steps Sony announces to approximate when exactly the new update will be launched.

Is it me or it's kinda tricky and fake comfort from that weak sorry a** company when it can't improve other significant areas? You can't even hold a major percent in your home country Japan. Just quit already Sony.

Don't worry. Enjoy your Samsung with its Fisher-Price inspired Experience interface based on Android 7.0, while I'm enjoying on my Sony an Android 8.0 based interface which follows coherently the Material Design principles. When I use my Samsung I feel like it was designed by someone with split-personality disorder, where half the interface (the Google apps) look professional and coherent and the other half (the Samsung apps and the system design) looks like designed by a toy company.

Not, in any way, trying to defend that racist, but if you think your subjective opinion about Samsung Experience UI is gonna steer people away from buying the galaxies, you aren't any better. If anything, Samsung has one of the overall best Android OEM UIs. It might not be as smooth as Stock, but some nanoseconds difference in speed ain't gonna hurt anyone. It's the most intuitive and feature-rich of them all.

I think I explained myself pretty clearly; I didn't mention anything about Samsung interface lagging (though this is also well documented); I said that Sony is following Google's Material Design guidelines, meaning that when you get a Sony, you get a phone with only one, coherent UI. When you get a Samsung you get a phone with its own (to my personal opinion over-stylized) UI which clashes with the Google elements of the experience, like the Play store, or Google Now/Assistant. This is not fanboyism, this is fact. If you want good interface design, you get an Apple, a Nexus/Pixel, a Motorola or a Sony. Everyone else messes Android design pretty badly with their respective skin.

Why was my comment response removed? Because I called Hallyu the "R" word? Well, that's what his posts say he is. . Here i go again: Not, in any way, trying to defend that r***** (see, I censored it), but if you think your subjective opinion about Samsung Experience UI is gonna steer people away from buying the galaxies, you aren't any better either. If anything, Samsung has one of the overall best Android OEM UIs. It might not be as smooth as Stock, but some nanoseconds difference in speed ain't gonna hurt anyone. It's the most intuitive and feature-rich of them all.

Sony use to be cool, back when they had that ericsson brand. It was the Nokia 3310’s best rival when MetroPCS had it on their 100 mile radius coverage.

There's a fix already. Try harder. There is distortion on wide angle lenses, even in SLRs. It's a boon or bane.

Sony is irrelevant, so it doesn't matter what software version you are using.
