Sony Xperia XZ3 goes on sale in the US for $900
Sony's most recent flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ3 is available for purchase in the United States. Since no carrier in the country will offer the top-tier device, customers who absolutely must own the Xperia XZ3 will be able to get it from either Amazon or Best Buy.

Of course, it won't come cheap, but you can be thankful it doesn't go over the $1,000 mark. Both US retailers sell the Xperia XZ3 for $900, a normal price these days for a flagship smartphone. The phone comes unlocked and includes US warranty, but it will not work on Sprint and Verizon networks.

Sony Xperia XZ3 was up for pre-order in the US since September 18, and those who placed an order for the flagship at Amazon also received a pair of Xperia Ear Duo headphones worth $280 for free.

In other parts of the world, Sony offered other incentives with Xperia XZ3 pre-orders, including a free PlayStation 4 copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Anyway, if you're looking to buy one of these, make sure to check out our Sony Xperia XZ3 review before spending your hard-earned money.

And so is the Pixel 3, the 2019 iPhones, the V40, the S9/Note 9. Flagships have ballooned in price for no reason other than consumers keep paying for them.

"Flagships have ballooned in price for no reason other than consumers keep paying for them." Very true, unfortunately :(

I know expensive is relative, but for me that's a bit much, especially when you add the taxes and shipping. Sony's devices are compelling and do offer great features that can be useful, however I don't think they should be charging their devices that much. I think they should at least be selling it at 600 or 650 to get the mass interested, THEN afterwards when it gained enough media/consumer traction with the affordable price bracket (like OnePlus and others), that's when they should start increasing their pricing gradually through interations going forward, but not 900+ dollars out the gate. Also, advertise your products, I think when Sony acknowledges this, they'll be on a path to good success.

When Apple and Samsung start pricing their phones at the $650 level then it will be ok for Sony to drop their prices. Why should Sony, or any other established company, wh0re themselves out? An iPhone or Galaxy is not that much better than any other flagship to warrant such a price differential. If the market will bear it and the consumer keeps bending over to pay these ridiculous prices, so be it. Capitalism at its finest.

Smh, does Sony really think people are going to shell out $900 for this phone? Are they really that stupid? You're not even guaranteed to get consist updates or security updates. You're pretty much just paying for the Sony name here and that's not really worth THAT much. This is a massive fail Sony.

Now you're going after Sony? Even a phone as old as the X Performance from 2016 got Oreo LAST YEAR. Their mid-range XA1 series got Oreo this spring FFS. Tell me again how Sony is bad with updates? Hell, you don't have to wait for an OTA to get their updates, you can use Xperia Companion or Flashtool and Xperifirm with your PC.

People just talk crap cause they know no better, after Google I would say Sony is second best at updates and they update way more phones than any other manufacturer. Then we have these reviews that mislead consumers I was recently in the USA at an amusement park and my friends over their didn't even know sony made phones far less ones with good cameras but I told them the camera is half the job the picture depends alot on the person using the camera.

Show me where I said anything about the cameras on Sony phones. Go on I'll wait.

Show me where I mentioned you in my comment! I said reviews speaking of the multiple sites across the net that bash Sony for not being up there with the iPhones and Samsungs of mobile tech when it comes to camera and design yet these sites praise phones like the Razer phone. So take a chill pill I wasn't speaking about you but if the cap fits please wear it.

I'm going to go after any OEM that does something I disagree with, including ones I use. It's called being unbiased. $900 for a smartphone is ridiculous. That was the point.

Sony not getting consistent updates? Hahaha, how long have you been living in a cave?

For the record, you guys should pay more attention to what I said. I didn't say anything about not getting updates. I just said that you're not guaranteed to get them like phones that are part of the Android One platform that are guaranteed to receive updates for two years.

You are as much guaranteed to get updates with Sony as with any non Android One device, but much much faster than with most other phones. Bashing Sony for updates is very dumb.

Which is why I clarified my statement. I forgot how twitchy Sony fans are. I was bashing Sony for the PRICE, not because of updates.
