Sony rolls out Android 10 for Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact, and XZ2 Premium
Sony is keeping its promise of delivering Android 10 for a bunch of Xperia smartphones in early 2020. After releasing the update for the new Xperia 1 and Xperia 5, the Japanese company is now upgrading a trio of top-tier handsets: Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, and Xperia XZ2 Premium.

There's no official confirmation available from Sony yet, but multiple XDA Forum members report they have received the Android 10 update. At the moment, the unlocked models are the only ones getting the update in Europe and the United States.

The update weighs in at 730MB but depending on what phone you're using, it could be smaller or bigger. According to a thread on XDA Forum, Android 10 adds a new dark mode, but the Launcher hasn't been updated so don't expect new navigation gestures. On the bright side, you'll be getting Digital Wellbeing and the rest of the Android 10 new features and improvements.

Sony is expected to update two other phones to Android 10, the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus, but no ETA is available at the moment. If you're using one of the three Xperia phones mentioned in the title, it's worth checking to see if you're eligible for the new update, even if you don't live in Europe or the United States.
