Seven things we think we know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The Note 7 is coming in a month's time. Well, at least that's what the rumor mill has been trying to convince us in -- there's a leaked invitation for a Galaxy Unpacked event that Samsung will allegedly hold on August 2. We all know what this probably means: Samsung usually announces its flagship phones at such Unpacked events.

While you're there getting hyped up, we will... Note the date.

Sorry for the inexcusable and totally predictable pun.

Anyway, we've already heard a lot of intriguing thing regarding the Note 7. Actually, the rumors are becoming more intriguing by the minute. We already seem to know quite a lot about Samsung's next phablet. Actually, do we?

Feel free to check out our rumor round-up for the Note 7 right below, as well as the recent massive leak that corroborated with many of the previous leaks we saw. However, until the device goes official it will all be speculation on all fronts, but here are a couple of things we think we know about the Galaxy Note 7.

I would like a better camera. The s7 has a very good camera not much different to the s6 and that has been on the shelf for about 18mth now.

It's a bit different, right down to the f ratio.

The S7 has a lot better camera than the S6. The S6 and Note 4 have the same camera (with slightly different software). I have a Note 4 and my wife has an S7. While my Note 4 takes fantastic pictures (there is a reason why it still beats the latest iPhone), it takes a bit of time to focus (in milliseconds). Her S7 camera focuses instantly, and I do mean INSTANTLY! The S7 also has a better lense with a wider aperture, which means it is able to take better low light pictures. If you are taking a picture where your subject is stationary (giving you time to focus) or you are in slightly better lighting conditions, you could easily confuse the S6/Note 4 and 5 camera as the same as the S7. However, if you are not in those conditions you can definitely tell the difference.

Excited about what 8893 offers. Only thing we know that it will be great device (assumption based on last few notes).

It better be USB 3.0 Type C and not 2.0

This is the first time I'm seeing someone talk about this. Yes! I plug my phone into my computer all the time so I want to take advantage of Samsungs' UFS and my SSD in my laptop.

I'm hoping the rumors of it only having a 3600Mah battery is not true. I also hope that the camera is updated.

Yes, it would be great if it had an updated 16mp camera with a lower aperture (so they could rely less on post-processing sharpening) and a >4000 mAh battery. Anyways, I'm still going to buy it as long as it has fm radio.

Ah, and my pocket is not ready, lad... For a pensioned old man; an $800 phone is just a tad too much to 'fathom'... I'd rather fix my rusty 6-Cylinder diesel pick-up...! Or perhaps buy some champagne to drink all alone, but I find it rather sad, to be honest...! Anyways, I'll be keenly looking forward to this Freakish Note... Reading a Galaxy Note's specs sheet is as good as reading Ducati's latest Superbike's specs sheet! G'Day!
