Save over $100 or 20% on a Microsoft Surface Go tablet

Last July, Microsoft launched its Surface Go line of tablets in order to compete with Apple's lower-end iPad tablets. The Surface Go slates are equipped with a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 10-inch display carrying a 1200 x 1800 resolution. Under the hood, you'll find an Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y along with various configurations of memory and storage. An 8MP camera adorns the back of the tablet and a 5MP front-facing camera (used for Windows Hello facial recognition) is on board. The Wi-Fi only models offer up to 9 hours of battery life, while the units that support LTE connectivity will squeeze as much as 8.5 hours out of the battery. Windows 10 in S mode is pre-installed.

If you fancy the idea of a more affordable Windows 10 tablet (as opposed to the pricier Surface Pro), the Surface Go might be what you're looking for. And with the optional Type Cover accessory, you can add a physical QWERTY keyboard to the mix.

Speaking of more affordable, Amazon currently has a sale (via MSPoweruser) on the Wi-Fi only Surface Go model that comes with 4GB of memory and 128GB of SSD storage. The SSD drive means that there are no moving, spinning parts like you will find with a hard disk drive. Normally priced at $499, you can purchase this tablet for $398. With the $101 discount, you'll be saving 20%. This price has obviously attracted plenty of buyers as only a limited number of units remain.

With the discount, the pricing of this Surface Go model compares favorably to Apple's new iPad Air, which starts at $499 for a 64GB Wi-Fi version. It also is cheaper than the iPad (2018), which Apple says is its most popular model. With 128GB of storage inside, the Wi-Fi version of this model starts at $429.
