Samsung said to kill off Note brand
According to a report out of Russia, Samsung is going to drop the Note name from any future device. An anonymous source inside Samsung's Russian operations says that the company is concerned that the reputation of the Note brand has been destroyed by the many explosions that damaged several units of the phone. Both the recalled and replacements models have ignited leading Samsung to discontinue production of the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung has told its carrier partners to stop exchanging recalled phones for the replacement units. In addition, Samsung has told its partners to stop selling the phone. Turning to its customers, Samsung has asked those with either Galaxy Note 7 phone to turn them off and refrain from turning them back on.

According to the source inside Samsung, a poll revealed that more than 50% of consumers polled now have a negative feeling about the brand. The  very first Samsung Galaxy Note was released on October 28th, 2011. It was the first smartphone to carry a screen larger than 5-inches. The display actually measured 5.3-inches, and carried an 800 x 1280 resolution.
