Samsung Star II is being re-branded as the Samsung Tocco Icon for Orange UK
In the wireless world, it’s not uncommon to find carriers taking well known devices and splashing on their own unique name to better suit their needs. For those who are slightly interested in picking up the Samsung Star II S5260 for Orange UK, you might get some strange stares from store employees since the name might not be recognizable.

It appears that the Samsung Star II is being re-branded to the Samsung Tocco Icon since Orange decided to call the first Star as the Tocco Lite. Still, the Samsung Tocco Icon will embody all the things that the Star II has to offer – like its 3” WQVGA display and TouchWiz interface. Sure it isn’t a behemoth of a phone, but we’d imagine that someone out there will still nonetheless be attracted to it. So if you’re planning on picking this up through Orange UK, just be aware about the name change.

Granted that its pricing is still unknown, it seems that Orange UK will be offering the handset to pay-as-you-go customers.
