Samsung: 'Note 8 will feature more advanced, richer multimedia functionalities'

Tucked amidst promises for 7nm chips next year, and shareholder dividend distribution, Samsung did spill a few words over the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet during its record earnings call yesterday. As a reminder, the latest info on the Note 8 is that it will sport a 6.3" screen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, the newest Snapdragon or Exynos chipsets, 6GB RAM, and a 3,300 mAh battery.

Samsung will have to make sure that everything goes smooth this time around, so the focus will likely be on testing the new chassis design and battery pack, but it will also have to woo users back to the Note line. Thus, a Samsung exec didn't hesitate to extol the virtues of the line, and promise more wonderful things to come with this year's edition:

The Galaxy Note series, first launched in 2011, come with a range of multimedia features, including the large-size display, and S Pen, only available with the smartphone models. The Galaxy Note 8 will feature more advanced, richer multimedia functionalities.

Now, what would those extra media features be, besides some sort of HDR screen certification, or the obligatory S Pen sensitivity enhancements, remains to be seen, but Samsung's DJ Koh did promise that he will "bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8," too, so we can't wait to see what Samsung's effort will bring to the Note line this year. Thankfully, there isn't much more time to wait.

The Note series have always been about overkill.

So, that ain't changing with the Note 8. It will beat everything else in featureset, as usual.

The S-Pen along with it's tricks is already an overkill all by itself... before taking about overkill hardware.

"Just remove your head from samsungs ass FFS!!!"

Coming from a hardcore sheeple, I can't help but laugh.

Aka more Ram, 6gb Ram, unlike iphones Useless 2gb Ram.

Don't worry 6gb Ram will take care off it.

That 2GB RAM from the iphone that you've been mocking still works flawlessly. Unlike Android. 6GB of ram? Is it a 'True 6GB of RAM', or is it less? Samsung is known for its touchwiz issues and bloatwares.

If it truly works flawlessly when doesn't iPhone 7 plus have 3 GB as against 2GB for iPhone 7?

First of all dumb ass the iphone 7 plus has 3gb ram and secondly, that same 2 and 3gb rams on the iphone absolutely slutters everything it is that android has been stuffing in their phone in both app speeds and multitasking.

Multitasking means running several apps and processes simultaneously, without closing one in the background when another is in the foreground.

Isn't that one of the reasons Android lags and stutters? Give me what Apple does any day. It's a freaking phone, not a laptop!

You don't need to call me names to prove a point. It shows who you truly are, how you get up, the kinda live you presently live and why you are called a sheep.

Secondly, the question wasn't answered. Since 2GB is more than enough for iPhones, why use 3GB for the plus version?

Yeah, i'm sorry for the insult tbh. As for why the iphone uses more than 2? Well its simple as its for thesame reason android uses up to 8.
