Dual camera with 3x zoom? Top new Galaxy Note 8 features to expect

With the Galaxy S8 and S8+ already behind us, we can safely turn our prophetic gaze into the future, namely the Galaxy Note 8. Samsung just announced its Unpacked event for August 23, where we can safely assume that the phablet will be unveiled for the world to see.

There have been plenty of leaks and tips about the phone already, plus we have the immortal words of Samsung's DJ Koh: "I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8," uttered way back in January to lean back on.

Could it be a top-of-the-line dual camera setup, or the overall package designed with the Infinity Display and S Pen in mind? We've rounded up the most notable new features to expect from the Note 8 in a digestible form above, are you waiting to see how it ultimately shapes up?

Why is Bixby so much of a concern to someone who isn't even an Samsung user? You're more obsessed with Samsung than Samsung fans themselves. Hilarious.

He's just desperately trying to fill the hole in his heart created by samsung phones being rated the best there is. For the past three years, the pain has been his only companion.

My SSD, tv, and monitor are all Samsung, so you might want to get your facts straight lol I'm obsessed with improving tech, and Galaxy phones are no exception. Bixby might be great to you, but evidence is there that suggests many don't want it, which is why we see Bixby Remapping tools. Here is what's hilarious to me - Sammy Fanboys too ignorant to realize even what they consider "best" can improve, then attacking a Samsung user for providing constructive feedback, at the fear of their precious brand having a flaw. lol.

Nobody wanted assistants either tbh. Even now we still kinda debating if Siri or Google now are worth it. They were more or less forced on us, updated as time went on and eventually most of.us found some things to like about it. So relax, give Bixby a dam chance it's not that bad tbh. Your too salty my dude

Could you provide some valuable study proving no one wants bixby?

But you don't own a Samsung phone, so how can you give feedback on a device you don't own? You are just an Apple lover trolling Sammy articles like the rest of the pathetic Apple loving bunch on these websites....

So non-Samsung users cannot complain or have an opinion about Samsung's features? That's ridiculous.

Non Samsung users can provide constructive feedbacks and opinions. But not complain (or may be trolling) about something that has just begun to seed. No one has first hand experience about bixby and non Samsung users are already complaining.

You shouldn't have to be a Samsung user to voice your opinion, especially if you voice it in a non attacking manner. I voice my opinion as a tech user for products I don't own, but would potentially want to own. That said, I am a Samsung user, and while I don't necessarily like Bixby in its current state, I don't see the need to remove it either. Let them work on it more, and keep it on the phone as an option for users to give feedback while they work to make it better and comparable to Google's offering with updates. What I really DON'T want however, is a dedicated button that you can't remap for a feature that is inferior to another (Google Assistant) that already comes with your phone. That "Bixby" button would work really well as a camera shutter, a mute button, a (insert favorite app) launcher, and MANY other things other than a currently half baked AI assistant. That's what I want gone.

As for met, that button is non existent in many phones. Most other android do only have volume buttons and a power button on sides. So, if people are okay with those setup then why complaining about bixby button. The bixby button has not decreased any functionality that people could find in any other android phones. If there was no bixby button then it was fine but if there is a bixby button that is made only for bixby then people are outraging.

I get that, but personally, I like phones that have the bare minimum of buttons on the sides so that it looks "clean." I had an iPhone 6 and a OnePlus X, both of which had a mute slider on the side, which I didn't find as useful considering i can just slide the notification down and mute it, but that at least had a point to an extent. I like the camera shutter option on Sony phones. Again, not necessary, but I get the convenience of it. On the S8 though, the extra button is just there to lunch Bixby. Bixby is not that good yet, and even if it was the best AI around, I'm not sure I'd have a hardware button dedicated to it, but that's just me.

Only google assistant will be getting ditched from my Note 8. Bixby does a whole lot more without the nonsense data mining for ads.

Exact thay, Shazam. Bixby focuses more on doing things we normally entails a day-to-day usage of smartphones. Watched demo videos and was hooked for real.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ow9J2n12Jkk At the beginning of that video, Bixby is used to search for pictures of a flower, then took a selected pic of the flower and set it as the home screen wallpaper. At 4:25, Bixb launches the camera amd takes photo of the label on a wine bottle "Casillero del Diablo" then searched that text on the Web, and gave a description of the text, which was accurate: the text being wine brand and related info about the brand. Bixby is nowhere near the trash that haters are ranting about.

And these are the 8 reasons? A more rectangular design? A new price? A smaller battery? Sd 835? O.1" screen difference? Stereo speakers that it wont have? Lmao!

As for the design... Lol Apple... 6,6s,7,7s may be.. Snapdragon 835 Yes or Exynos 9.. Note 8 is not a successor to the S8... 0.1" difference? No 0.6" in a compact form factor.. Stereo speakers that it won't have.,. We have yet to see.... Plus a lot more functionality... That iCrap users can only dream of... A better camera.. better low light photography...

Same could be said of several other ppl, notably Techie. Let us Apple users enjoy what we like as well. He's more obsessed with Apple and hating on the iPhone than most Apple users are about liking it.
