Samsung's upcoming top-tier Galaxy Tab S5 tablet has powerful specs

Samsung's upcoming top-tier Galaxy Tab S5 tablet has powerful specs
It looks like the Galaxy Note 10 won't be the only top-tier product that Samsung plans to introduce in August. Another Samsung high-end tablet has just popped up on Geekbench, the go-to place for info on unreleased phones and tablets, and judging by its specs this is clearly the better version of the Galaxy Tab S5e.

Unlike the Galaxy Tab S5e which is powered by a mid-range chipset, a Snapdragon 670 processor, the upcoming model includes a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 CPU. Spotted by GizChina, the listing on Geekbench also suggests the tablet will be equipped with 6GB RAM, the same amount of memory inside the current Galaxy Tab S5e model.

Since Geekbench doesn't list details about a device's display, that piece of information remains a mystery for the moment. Still, if Samsung plans to slightly upgrade the Galaxy Tab S5e, then we might be looking at the same specs with the exception of the more powerful Snapdragon 855 chipset.

If that's the case, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S5 should boast a large 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display and either 64GB or 128GB storage. It remains to be seen whether or not Samsung will opt for the same 7,000 mAh battery or will switch it for a slightly better one, although the Snapdragon 855 is very power efficient.

Rumor has it that Samsung plans to reveal the Galaxy Note 10 in August, but we're not yet convinced that the South Korean company will use the opportunity to introduced yet another high-end product. Even if the Galaxy Tab S5 won't be announced alongside the next Note series phone, we should definitely get it in early September at IFA trade fair.

Could possibly feature something that comes from the deal with AMD... It's early I know but possible. Either way it's about time that stopped making tabs with 4gb of RAM.

4gb of Ram on android devices is a joke. Its only apple can pull that something low spec that perform better than most high ends. With the coming of PadOs, there’s no more rooms for this tablets. Android and developers not supporting it anymore with their unoptimized apps on tablets.

Samsung is just trying to grab some mid range customers with a failure tablet,, tablets are supposed to be highly portable computers which are much more powerful than smartphones but its weaker than a low end smartphone even.. The Android tablet OS is the worst OS ever with least supported apps. What a real tablet should be the iPad pro 2018 with a processor faster than 90% of all the laptops in the world. It's much more powerful than the fastest smartphone iPhone XS.. And with iPadOS around the corner it'll beat laptops by doing 95% of high end pc tasks(except for some serious programming which already needs a high end pc or MacBook.

iPad OS is still just iOS with a slight redesign, it's not gonna make much difference in what it can actually do. If anything it brings it closer to the Galaxy Note tablets in functionality, but nowhere near a laptop yet.

The deal with AMD involves usage of their graphic knowledge. Since this is using the 855 processor that won’t be the case. I can almost guarantee you that Qualcomm won’t allow their processors to be used with an AMD GPU.

Lol adreno gpus are technically amd gpu though. I'm pretty sure qualcomm just bought the archetirue in 2008.

Back in 2009-2010 sure But for many years the Adreno GPUs are completely Qualcomms own architecture, even the ISA is completely different now

According to AnandTech we most likely won't see anything from the deal with AMD until 2022 Which makes sense given the deal was just signed, they've just started working together And AMD has no experience designing GPUs for smartphones

Will likely be very expensive, even the old ass tab s2 still cost more than a 2018 education iPad

Hopefully it's a big ass note 10 with a headphone jack

Nope, the note 10 isn’t gonna have a headphone jack As both the 5g model of the s10 and the now failed galaxy fold don’t have headphone jacks either They also removed sd card support as well

You should read more carefully. He didn't say the Note 10 would have a headphone jack. He said that this is hopefully like a bigger Note 10 with a headphone.

And I’m saying it’s likely that the tab s5 won’t have a headphone jack either cuz Samsung is already removing it from their devices with the Tab s5e, the 5g s10 and galaxy fold

Been holding off a 5e because of no spen support. I really hope they manage to maintain the crazy thin profile and light weight of the 5e with the Tab S5. Come on Samsung! Also a bigger battery if possible!!!

I'm still loving my Tab S4. Yeah the older chipset was a bit of a worry but I've had zero issues with it and it comes with all the bells and whistles like a wacom stylus and headphone port. My only complaints are lack of NFC and the stupid glass back.

Needs a higher screen refresh rate this time. Also it would be better if the screen was 10.8". Still love my Tab S5e though.

even as an android user I would still buy an iPad pro over it especially after the new ipadOS Android tablets are a joke and offer nothing compiling to consider them as an option IMO
