Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ update adds Night Mode function, other improvements
Samsung's last year flagships, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are getting new features and improvements in the latest update, which is dubbed June security patch. As the title says, the most important addition is the new Night Mode, a feature that Samsung saved for the Galaxy S10 series.

Apart from the Night Mode functionality, the update contains a bucketload of improvements meant to further enhance performance and stability. For example, the performance of the camera has been improved, and the same goes for the security of the phone and the usability of QR Code reader.

Some new things have been added, such as background blur intensity bar for the selfie camera, and the option to adjust the background blur with no less than eight intensity levels on the preview screen when setting Live focus mode.

Other improvements included in the update hit areas like Messaging, Contacts, and Gallery. The update is quite sizeable at 575MB, so make sure you have enough free space on your phone. Keep in mind that once you apply the update, you won't be able to downgrade to the previous version of the OS.

Now, it appears that the new update is rolling out in Asia first, TizenHelp reports. For the time being, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ users in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines should be able to download the June update, but we can safely assume a wider rollout will commence in the next few days.
