Samsung teases the Galaxy A8s with bezel-less design and hole in the display

Samsung teases Galaxy A8s with bezel-less design and hole in the display.
Earlier today, Samsung took to the stage in China to announce the Galaxy A6s and Galaxy A9s (the Chinese version of the new Galaxy A9). However, in an unexpected move, the company also announced a third device that will soon be released, the Galaxy A8s.

Samsung failed to provide any concrete details about what can be expected from the smartphone in terms of specifications or features, but it did claim that it will come equipped with a “first-time adoption” technology. Once again, Samsung didn’t elaborate on the matter but it went on to provide a very futuristic-looking teaser image of the smartphone which hints at an all-screen design.

According to tipster Ice Universe, this “first-time” technology will actually be a new display that comes complete with a small hole in one of the top corners or towards the center that will accommodate the front-facing camera. This display will reportedly also adopt a new 19.5:9 aspect ratio, leaving a tiny bezel both above and below the panel which will be big enough to accommodate the in-ear speaker and any other necessary sensors.

One separate source has also stated that the Galaxy A8s is the Snapdragon 710-powered Samsung smartphone that was rumored just a few days back. If this is the case, a triple rear camera setup is to be expected, as is a relatively small 3,000mAh battery.

The South Korean giant is yet to confirm when the Galaxy A8s will reach consumers but, according to recent information, the smartphone will be released in January. What remains to be seen at this point is if Samsung will release it internationally.
