SocialNuggets scans social networks like Facebook and Twitter to see what people are thinking based on their comments. According to their index for smartphones, at the end of the first quarter of 2012, it was the Samsung GALAXY Note that was the on the top of the list. The cross between a phone and a tablet with its 5.3 inch screen, the phablet had the Samsung Galaxy S II trailing behind it, followed by the Apple iPhone 4S.

Yes, there are some surprises on the list such as the BlackBerry Bold 9900 which finished the quarter in 6th place. The Nokia Lumia 800 is almost neck and neck with the Apple iPhone 4S for third place. Another site that measures social sentiment on Twitter is Sentiment140. They found that 79% of tweets about the Nokia Lumia 800 were positive while 56% of tweets about the Apple iPhone 4S were negative. That compares with the 63% of tweets about Android that were negative as well.
