Sailfish OS 2.1.1 now available for all Jolla devices, here is what's new

Following the Sailfish X for Sony Xperia X announcement, Finnish company Jolla released another OS update for all devices powered by Sailfish operating system.

The new Sailfish OS 2.1.1 is now available for devices like the Jolla 1, Jolla C and Jolla tablet, so if you own one these Jolla devices, then you can go ahead and download it now.

Among the new features and improvements included in the update, Jolla mentions a new camera interface that provides direct access from the lock screen, Mobile Device Management (MDM) enablers aimed at business customers, new VPN features, better calendar app, faster email app startup, as well as lots of bug fixes.

Besides everything mentioned above, Jolla added dozens of other features such as enhanced Alien Dalvik on Jolla C devices, improved connectivity features such as the ability to edit saved and out of range Wi-Fi networks and edit passwords, as well as improved general reliability of OS gestures.

Two new types of VPN have been included in the update: L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) and PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol). Also, the video attached to the story will walk you through the new camera interface added in Sailfish OS 2.1.1.
