Reserve a Turing Phone now: 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass 4 screen, liquid metal finish, IPX8 certification

Back in April, we told you about the Turing Phone, coming from Turing Robotic Industries. Pre-orders for the phone were supposed to take place last month, but there has been a delay. Instead, Turing will allow you to reserve a phone. This way, the company can have a rough idea how many phones it needs to build. Since no contract is completed, you or Turing can walk away if there aren't any phones to sell you, or if you've decided that you don't want one.

Besides using a liquid metal finish that makes the phone's casing stronger than steel, each Turing Phone can recognize another to complete an encrypted 'protected communications network' that cannot be intruded upon by a third party. To reserve a phone, click on the sourcelink and make some selections. You will need to choose a color option between Beowulf, Pharaoh or Cardinal. You will also get to select between 16GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The Turing Phone comes with a Gorilla Glass 4 protected 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 resolution screen, and is powered by the Snapdragon 801 SoC. This includes a quad-core 2.5GHz CPU with the Adreno 330 GPU. 3GB of DDR3 RAM is inside, and the camera combo from back to front weighs in at 13MP/8MP. A 3000mAh battery powers the phone and a modified version of Android 5.0 is pre-installed. The phone has an IP X8 certification, which means that it can be immersed continuously in water as deep as 9.8 feet.

The 16GB Turing Phone is priced at $610 while the 64GB model will run you $740. The 128GB version is tagged at $870.
