Razer Phone starts receiving Android 9.0 Pie update
UPDATE: Razer has put the rollout on hold due to the Game Booster bug, so if you don't see it yet on your phone, that's why. According to a message on Reddit, Razer will resume the depolyment once the bug is fixed.

Great news for owners of the original Razer Phone, as the company behind the gaming smartphone, is now rolling out the promised Android 9.0 Pie update. It's been about a month since Razer confirmed that its first-ever smartphone will be updated to Android 9.0 Pie and while it didn't offer an exact timeframe, it did say that the update is coming “soon.”

Well, it looks like that time has come, at least according to some Razer Phone owners who successfully captured the update. AndroidPolice reports the update weighs about 1GB and, as seen in the screenshot attached, includes a handful of other improvements.

Apart from the July security patch, the Android 9.0 Pie update for Razer Phone adds new features and improvements such as the adaptive battery, gesture navigation, notification management, Digital Wellbeing support, as well as bug fixes and performance enhancements.

Although Razer Phone owners should be able to download the update starting today, since this is a staged rollout, it might take a few days to be available to everyone.
