Pre-registrations for the HTC Desire 820s in China surpass 1.2 million units6
The difference between the HTC Desire 820 and the HTC Desire 820s is found under the hood. The former uses an octa-core Snapdragon 615, which also features 64-bit processing, but runs at a lower clock speed of 1.5GHz. The rest of the specs for both models are the same, and include a 5.5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 resolution. The handsets carry 2GB of RAM inside, along with 16GB of native storage. When it comes to both the back and front-facing cameras, the phones are well endowed. The rear camera on the handsets weigh in at 13MP while the front-facing "selfie" shooter has an 8MP sensor. The Desire 820 and Desire 820s share the front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers, and a 2600mAh battery powers the phones. Both models support LTE connectivity.
HTC has only 50,000 units of the Desire 820s to sell when the handset is actually released, and the first 5000 buyers will receive a $65 USD discount off the price of $294 USD.
