Pegatron's quarterly revenue aided by Apple iPhone 6
Contract manufacturer Pegatron reported sales of $3.75 billion for its fiscal first quarter. That was up 3.28% from the company's fiscal fourth quarter and 28.98% year-over-year. Market watchers say that the company will continue to keep the momentum seen during its first quarter thanks to sales of the Apple iPhone 6. Last quarter, Pegatron shipped 40 million units of the phone, which is exactly what analysts expect Pegatron to do again in the current quarter.

Still, there are some market watchers who see rivals Foxconn, Wistron and Compal Electronics stealing away 20% to 30% of  Pegatron's iPhone 6 business (8 million to 12 million units) in the current quarter. And that could be a tough break for the company.

Raising the screen size of the iPhone from 4-inches on the Apple iPhone 5s and Apple iPhone 5c to 4.7-inches for the Apple iPhone 6 and 5.5-inches for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus has been a shot in the arm for Apple itself and for its suppliers. It also has been very positive for the contract manufacturers like Pegatron.
