The Oukitel K series phones have always been about two things — massive batteries and a distinct style. The newest addition, Oukitel K12, pushes the boundaries even more, with a massive 10,000 mAh battery, meant to last you for days on end. The phone is currently in a pre-sale period and you can grab it for $239.99 before the 24th of June rolls by.

So, what do you get for that amount of cash?

Massive battery

The star of the show is, of course, the 10,000 mAh battery that keeps all the lights on. According to specification, the Oukitel K12 can sit in standby (with a SIM in it) for up to 31 days. Normal usage will net you a full week of usage. Watching videos at max volume and brightness takes a full 14.5 hours to drain the battery, while listening to music at maximum volume will take more than two full days and nights.

Topping the cell up is not as cumbersome as it may seem, too. Thanks to a 5V / 6A fast charger, the K12 can go back up to 100% in 2 hours and 20 minutes. And yes, you can actually use it as a powerbank to give off power to phones that are less fortunate with their battery capacities.

Design and display

The Oukitel K12 bears the signature leather-on-metal look that Oukitel has been developing for years. It has a stark, angular appearance, giving it the look of powerful machinery. On the front, it has a 6.3-inch screen with a 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution (FHD+), meaning its aspect ratio is 19.5:9. The screen has a discreet waterdrop notch to hold the selfie camera at the top and minimal bezels all around.

Hardware and camera

On the inside, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC ticking at 2.35 GHz. It’s an energy-efficient processor, built on a 12 nm process, produced specifically for the era of wide-screen phones. Its IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor can run at speeds of up to 680 MHz.

The on-board storage you get is 64 GB, which can be further expanded via a microSD card of up to 128 GB. The phone has 6 GB of RAM to keep all your apps running. And yes, it does have an NFC chip inside.

The main camera at the back has a 16 MP Sony-made sensor, which is assisted by a 2 MP shooter for depth sensing. It offers modes like bokeh shots, beautify, and pro mode. On the front, there’s a wide-angle 8 MP camera.

Software and connectivity

The Oukitel K12 comes with nothing but a pure Android 9 Pie experience on board. No extra skins or bloat. To keep with current trends, it supports both fingerprint unlocking for security and face unlocking for ease of use. It has been designed and developed as a global smartphone with a wide coverage of GSM and LTE bands — GSM: 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA: 1/2/4/5/8; FDD: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/19/20; TDD: 40.

Price and availability

The pre-sale is currently ongoing and you can grab the Oukitel K12 for $239.99. After the 24th of June, its price will go up to the standard $249.99 and shipping will begin shortly after.
