Oppo refreshes the Oppo R1 with specs boost and 4G LTE connectivity
In Malaysia on Wednesday, Oppo introduced the Oppo R1L. This is a refreshed version of the Oppo R1, although many things about the device have not been changed. The handset keeps its 5 inch screen with the 720 x 1280 resolution, but replaces the quad-core MediaTek silicon with a quad-core 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU. The phone continues to offer a metallic body with a svelte 7.1mm thin footprint. There is 1GB of RAM inside, with 16GB of native storage. No microSD slot comes with the model.
The rear camera gets a nice bump up from 8MP to 13MP with an aperture of f/2.0. That should allow for great low-light pictures. The rear snapper uses the same Sony IMX214 Sensor found on the OnePlus One and the Oppo Find 7. You can shoot a 32 second long exposure for fantastic night shots. And there is 120 fps video playback available for super slow motion.
Oppo's Color OS 1.2 runs on top of Android 4.3, and a 2410mAh battery keeps the lights on. The new model does offer 4G LTE connectivity. and is priced at the equivalent of $370 USD.
