OnePlus confirms at least 3 years of updates for its upcoming Android TV

Now that we know OnePlus plans to launch its first-ever TV, it's time to dig deeper into what's going to bring to the table the upcoming product. Well, we already know a couple of things, like the fact that the OnePlus TV will pack a QLED display and 4K support.

Today, OnePlus' Pete Lau revealed more details about the TV and the most important, as the title says, is the very long software support the device will receive. OnePlus decided to use Android TV thanks to its strong partnership with Google, which is also the reason the company can offer at least 3 years of Android TV updates.

OnePlus also believes that by choosing Android TV, it will be able to offer consumers a ton of great features like the Play Store and Google Assistant. Putting Android TV on the OnePlus TV will also allow many customers to interact and seamlessly connect with their Android smartphones.

The OnePlus TV will be launched in India in September, but the company is working to bring it to North America and Europe as soon as it establishes partnerships with local and regional content providers.
