Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition gets beamed up to UK
With the new Star Trek movie coming out in a couple of days, Nokia have decided to jump the bandwagon and use the hype to sell some more. The result is new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Star Trek Edition that will be available in the UK through from Phones 4U from 1 May 2009 onwards.

The Star Trek Nokia comes in standard red, blue and silver colors with the main difference from the now available versions being modified content. It will feature three Star Trek wallpapers and four animated screensavers, all based on the franchise. It will also come equipped with eight Star Trek ring tones with self-explanatory titles like “Phazer Shot”, “Red Alert” etc. The phone will also have a "special Phazer application" that we suppose won’t help you fight aggressive aliens, but at the least might turn out to be mildly amusing if you happen to be a Star Trek fan.

The Star Trek edition will be free on a £25 a month contract with Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and O2, so if you’re a Trekkie you may want to take a closer look at what´s on offer.
