New photos of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL prototypes show triple LED flash on both models
The latest leaked images of the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL reveal a pair of prototypes, with each carrying a triple LED flash on the back. This feature will apparently not be contained to the Lumia 950 XL as earlier thought. We do have to point out that the phones in the pictures are stamped "prototype," which means that the final production versions could be different.

The images also confirm that there will be a dual SIM version of both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, and we also get a better look at the low-infrared diode used by the iris scanner on both models. With the scanner, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL users will be able to unlock their phones simply by looking at them.

We expect to see both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL unveiled during Microsoft's media event, which will be held this coming Tuesday in New York City. Besides the two high-end phones, we could also see the unwrapping of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, and the Microsoft Band 2.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL aren't expected to be actually launched until sometime in November.

I agreed. I already dreamed I was browsing with a Lumia. Now I see. This is my next phone, dual sim support is what I have been looking in a flagship. Please Microsoft, set the right prices.

Why do these windows phones look like budget handsets from 2012? In fact, the original lumias looked awesome compared to these average style phones. They look like reference models. i so wanted these to look, feel and perform premium.

I import most of my phones, so no big deal.

Yes. Much better now. Although these are still less premium looking design wise than previous flagships including the HTC One M8 for Windows, the actual phones look much better than the renders that came out. With an aggressive price, I don't see how too many will pass these up for all that they offer. Qi wireless charging, removable battery, SD card expansion, QuadHD screens, Iris scanners and a what is set to be top of the line cameras? They can take my money today.

That appears to be an optical illusion caused by the reflection of those florescent bulbs.

Unfortunately it's flat as a pancake, except for that hideous rubber lining along the edge. This alone will be enough for me to back away...!

v10 looks basically the same as the 950. Both have those gigantic rings around the camera.

LG V-10 is too tall. At 159mm, while the MS L 950XL is about 151 and they both have the same 5.7". I will certainly go for the MS L 950XL because I love big screens in small skins. http://www.phonearena.com/news/New-Microsoft-Lumia-950-XL-render-reveals-the-phones-dimensions_id74110

I think these dimensions are fake. 151.90mm is very small

No don't think so You have probably converted 5.7" into millimeters I think you're wrong because you have to calculate length not diagonal! 5.7" is for diagonal of the screen

I hope the new Lumia's will be a hit for Microsoft, but they probably wont.

Waiting for the announcement. Maybe I'll get one of these instead of a Nexus 5X...

I am also waiting for announcement but very less likely buy after the announcement of LG V10 and nexus p6. However, if priced really low then may be. Who knows?

Am I the only one that find those WP phones tacky ? Typical, chinese design...

The Chinese are making phones of all shapes and materials. Some unique and some more clone worthy. So how exactly do these phones meet the criteria of "Typical, chinese design..."?

Ok true, I forgot to put 'cheap' before 'chinese'. Maby it's because those pics are unclear, but for now it looks cheap to me :/ The front side is ok, but the back... Terrible design o.O

True, the design of the camera module on the regular 950 looks tacky to me too. The polycarbonate does look plain but typically has always been of good quality at least. I'll have to see them in person before I cast my final vote.

The polycarbonate always looks and feels better in person. Its far better than metal or glass.
