New photos of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL prototypes show triple LED flash on both models
The latest leaked images of the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL reveal a pair of prototypes, with each carrying a triple LED flash on the back. This feature will apparently not be contained to the Lumia 950 XL as earlier thought. We do have to point out that the phones in the pictures are stamped "prototype," which means that the final production versions could be different.

The images also confirm that there will be a dual SIM version of both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, and we also get a better look at the low-infrared diode used by the iris scanner on both models. With the scanner, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL users will be able to unlock their phones simply by looking at them.

We expect to see both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL unveiled during Microsoft's media event, which will be held this coming Tuesday in New York City. Besides the two high-end phones, we could also see the unwrapping of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, and the Microsoft Band 2.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL aren't expected to be actually launched until sometime in November.

Microfail apparently lost all the good Nokia designers. Not feeling any sorry about that. Next year is Nokia's year anyways.

[Off-topic] What if manufacturers add 4 LED lights on a device, 2 on each side of the camera?

I jumped on the HTC 8x and regretted it pretty quickly. MS needs to do something crazy to get me to try again . This isn't it.

You bought HTC when you should have bought a Lumia, that was your mistake. Microsoft was not responsible for HTC's failure.

The Lumia 920 was too much of a brick. I only had one choice and it wasn't necessarily the hardware that turned me off. More the software. I am just not a fan of windows live tiles. On my PC i avoid it completely and just use desktop mode. Does windows phone have a desktop mode? Heck, I would take an Android mode or BB10 mode. lol

I remember all the comments about the Lumia 920 being too heavy, it's weighing down my arm, it's a brick! Go check out the weight of the new Iphone 6s+ (which doesn't get any of the same negativity) and compare it to the Lumia.

A Windows phone obviously is simply not the choice for you, regardless of hardware. And you've even given it a try... No use mussing over it anymore. :-)

Still looks like a 200USD phone made for developing countries. Hopefully the rumour of a Surface phone is true. Microsoft sure as heck can't rely on these Lumias to gain market share.

I've never seen a $200 phone with triple LED, 20MP camera, 1440p resolution, a high-end SD (despite its faults), SD expansion, removable battery. ASUS zenphone 2 comes close at $300, but really...you weren't serious to begin with. More to the point: I disagree completely with your assessment.

I was merely talking about looks (design)... not specs which are more than decent.

if triple led flash is what made you excited then purchase an external 16 led flash light in 5$... I have it and I made 50$ phone, a 500$ phone by plugging this flash in 3.5mm audio jack

I want a cityman in green so bad. Microsoft better price them properly. I will pay $650 for the cityman. NO MORE. $599 with $200 worth of accessories is the ideal offer. Think Microsoft. Think. Go with google pricing. not apple.

Then you will not likely get one of these devices. The lumia 1020 still goes for over $500 on amazon and was far more expensive upon launch. The flagships always cost money. You want flagship hardware and software? You have to pay for it. Only cheap Chinese OEMs offer decent specs for cheap because they can pay their workers very little to design/copy other phones and build them.

I know. I want it at that price because if it's over then all of the reviewers will rate it low because of 1. windows market % 2. apps and 3. price I want this to take off. so i want Microsoft to price it competitively. Google pricing not apple pricing. If it's more expensive than the nexus p then that is all you will here. Just wait.

Amazon had Lumia 1020 under $300 for a while, you can get it even around $250.
