Moto X (2014) vs HTC One (M8) vs Apple iPhone 5s: specs and size comparison

Motorola finally unveiled the successor to its Moto X flagship! It doesn't come with the fancy "Moto X+1" name that we initially thought it would be, but that's not stopping the smartphone from being a slight, but more-than-welcome improvements to the older Moto X. It has a 5.2” AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. This works out for a pixel density of 423ppi, which puts the just-unveiled Moto X in the higher tier of the smartphone segment.

A Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC (similar to the one of the Sony Xperia Z3) churns the gears at 2.5GHz and turns the second generation of the Moto X into a powerhouse. The 2GB of RAM on board also add up to the whole picture. Lastly, a not-so-impressive 2,300mAh battery can be found at the back of the device.
But how does the new Moto X stack up against the competition, i.e. the HTC One (M8) and the Apple iPhone 5s, for example? We were eager to find out, so we decided to put this trio on the boxing ring and sound the gong.
