Moto Germany reveals when to expect certain Moto units to receive Android 7.0
Moto Deutschland disseminated a tweet on Tuesday that revealed the dates when certain Moto devices are expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The Moto Z series receives the update on December 16th, while the Moto G4 series will receive Android 7.0 before December 31st. The Moto X line will be updated to Nougat early next year, and in January it will also be rolled out to the the Nexus 6.

Android 7.0 includes an enhanced version of Doze, which disconnects apps from running in the background while the phone is idle. This allows the standby time of the phone to increase along with the overall battery life. Multi-screen support allows users to run two apps side-by-side, and Unicode 9, the latest version of emoji available, is included.

Toward the end of last month, the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid both received Android 7.0 in the U.S. The handsets are exclusive to Verizon in the states. Motorola has been working hard on improving the speed of its upgrades. Having a rather sparse UI helps. Certainly, for those who have trouble deciding which smartphone brand to choose from, knowing that Motorola has your back when it comes to updates might play an important part in selecting a model to buy.
