Microsoft adds ability to view PDF files to Office app on Android

Microsoft's Office team has just announced a new update for all three apps under its supervision: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The new features included in the update are available to all those who enrolled into the Insider program, but they should make it to the final versions very soon.

For those of you who haven't joined Microsoft's Office Insider for Android community, here is what you will soon get if you're using either of the three Office apps on your Android device.

First of all, Word is getting the option to view PDF files on Android. Despite the fact that you could do this using OneDrive, Microsoft has decided to add this feature to Word app as well.

Furthermore, Excel for Android has been updated with a new feature that allows users to open files that contain scripts and documents that include Query tables with parameters.

Lastly, all three Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) now allow users to add Shadow and Reflection effects to improve pictures in their Office documents. In order to do that, you must insert an image, select it and choose the desired effect from the picture tab.

Once again, these new features are only available to Office Insiders at the moment, but they should be released to everyone in the coming weeks. We just wanted to let you know what to expect.
