Microsoft Band no longer available online

Microsoft Band no longer available online
The popular Microsoft Band is no longer available for online purchases.  Those looking to buy the hard-to-find wearable can try some brick and mortar Microsoft Stores. Some physical locations will have a few units of the Microsoft Band available for sale through the holidays. Those who were added to a waiting list for the Band will receive a checkout code good for a $10 discount from Microsoft. The code can be used toward any purchase over $50, made in the online store only. Microsoft says that the code is being handed out to make things right.

The Microsoft Band is available in the U.S. only, and one of the reasons for its success is its multi-platform support. The Band works with Windows Phone 8.1, Android (version 4.3 or newer), and iOS (7.1 and 8). With Windows Phone, there is integration with personal assistant Cortana. The Band also has an optical heart rate monitor, accelerometer, GPS, and a sensor that monitors skin temperature.

Obviously, the software giant didn't figure on its band being as popular as it turned out to be. If you are jonesing for the Microsoft Band, your best bet is to check with the Microsoft Stores in your area to see if you are lucky enough to find a store that has one of the few units remaining.

So are we going to get comments declaring how badly Microsoft failed because they didn't foresee demand for the device, like we saw for the Moto 360 and Nexus 6?

Are you still in denial about the 360 and Nexus 6 launches being botched?

Then by your own criteria, so is this launch. When in fact gauging popularity on an unknown is not an easy thing. It can happen to anyone. By your own definition, the launch of the 6 Plus must also be botched, since it was out of stock for so long.

You tell me, Mxy: did Microsoft botch this launch?

Don't backtrack on me.

I'm not. I'm seeing if you're going to be logically consistent here. Do you consider this a botched launch by Microsoft?

I seem to remember the last time you tried to pull this stunt. Several comments owned you left and right to which you didn't respond anymore afterwards.

What stunt is he pulling, logic? Is that a foreign lamguage to you? Answer the question and be done with it. Or will you go the "I don't feel I need to justify myself to you" route? Hypocrite. And you owning someone in an argument? Glad I don't have stitches because you would've popped them with that comment. Your strategy seems to be keep changing the subject to try and confuse the person you're arguing against. Why you didn't go into politics is beyond me.

I asked a question first and he never answered. Maybe next time you'll actually "read" my comment. I said several comments owned him. I never said I made those comments Mr. Selective Reading.

No, actually Snuggly asked the first question, and you countered him with another question, and then expected him to answer yours first. If you're going to bring reading comprehension into this, maybe you should try it yourself. You don't believe me? I'll post it right here. 1. Sniggly. So are we going to get comments declaring how badly Microsoft failed because they didn't foresee demand for the device, like we saw for the Moto 360 and Nexus 6? That was the first question, obviously directed at you, otherwise you wouldn't have responded to it, would you? Then your response is... 2. Mxyzptlk. Are you still in denial about the 360 and Nexus 6 launches being botched? You answered his question with a question, not answering his, and expecting him to answer your question first. If we're following the rules of answering questions in order, then you owe an answer. So, we're waiting.

And you're one to talk about not responding after losing an argument. Remember when you proclaimed that Motorola updates would be horrible just like the experience you apparently had with the Bionic. When you were proven wrong no one ever heard a word about that afterwards, you switched to bitching about their botched launches. And look at today, the Verizon Moto X is the first phone to do a widespread update to Android 5.0.

22. Mxyzptlk unregistered

I said the vaporware, lukewarm time leading up to the release of the X was bad just like the Bionic. Are you going to actually make a point or are you going to continue spewing bullcrap?

Yeah, the point is when cornered you do everything but answer the question like you're doing right now. Are you going to truthfully tell me that you never said anything bad about Motorola in regards to updates? If so you're more full of it than I thought. I remember because right after they updated the Moto X last year you were proven wrong. Should I go and find the article or are you going to be a man and actually own up to it?

Like I figured if Myx had to possibly admit he was wrong, he'll just hide instead.

So those "sold out" statements were deceptive?

No, they've been trickling back in stock here and there. My local Microsoft Store sold out of its initial allotment of 65 the first day they were available, and when i visited last week they had a shipment of another several dozen a few days prior, but only 5 each Small and Mediums remaining.

Get the sony swr30 band for $170 via sony's own store. No GPS but no LCD battery hogging screen either and you can take calls with it.
