Microsoft Band no longer available online
The popular Microsoft Band is no longer available for online purchases.  Those looking to buy the hard-to-find wearable can try some brick and mortar Microsoft Stores. Some physical locations will have a few units of the Microsoft Band available for sale through the holidays. Those who were added to a waiting list for the Band will receive a checkout code good for a $10 discount from Microsoft. The code can be used toward any purchase over $50, made in the online store only. Microsoft says that the code is being handed out to make things right.

The Microsoft Band is available in the U.S. only, and one of the reasons for its success is its multi-platform support. The Band works with Windows Phone 8.1, Android (version 4.3 or newer), and iOS (7.1 and 8). With Windows Phone, there is integration with personal assistant Cortana. The Band also has an optical heart rate monitor, accelerometer, GPS, and a sensor that monitors skin temperature.

Obviously, the software giant didn't figure on its band being as popular as it turned out to be. If you are jonesing for the Microsoft Band, your best bet is to check with the Microsoft Stores in your area to see if you are lucky enough to find a store that has one of the few units remaining.
