Latest leak shows off parts from the Apple iPad Air 2

Latest leak shows off parts from the Apple iPad Air 2
The Apple iPad Air 2 is going to be unveiled at a special event on October 16th. On Saturday, some images of Apple's flagship tablet were leaked including a Touch ID cable and a front panel. The logic board pictured below should have the Apple A8 processor aboard, along with 2GB of RAM, double the amount found on last year's Apple iPad Air.

The front screen appears to have every cutout in its proper place, although there is no confirmation of the rumored anti-reflective coating said to be on the screen. The 9.7 inch slate has been re-designed with an extremely thin casing that is supposed to make the iPad Air 2 the thinnest tablet on the market.

Besides the iPad Air 2, we should see Apple also unveil the Apple iPad mini 3 during the event next Thursday. In the meantime, you can check out the latest leaked images of the Apple iPad Air 2 by viewing the slideshow below.

And what ? It's not an iPad.

But is 100x times inferior to a iPad, especially in performance.

100X times inferior?

How did that extra zero get there? Anyways, yes. G Pads are terrible. Is pick a N7 if I was shopping for a tab in that price range. iPad smacks the G Pad silly in every way possible.

I see you've turned into a hardcore ifan.

Because I said iPads were better than G Pads? Nice to know people are fanboys for disliking what you prefer. I'll take note of that.

Not because you said you prefer ipad. But bcoz you said G pad is 100x (Ok 10x) times 'inferior' and that G Pads are terrible.

Weak argument. Let me know when you have something to counter my original statement. Until then, you're just a angry commenter. I'm a ifan because I prefer the iPad.... Pfffft. 9 out of 10 people would take the iPad over that low end tablet anyway. A7 processor alone makes the G Pad terrible.

I don't think i wrote anything angrily if YOU read it calmly.I just pointed out you're an ifan now bcoz you 'hate' G pads. And i hate fanboys.

LOL.......I am no iFan either infact I hate the practices by Apple as a company. But I have to say that iPad is a better product except Tab S series IMO. The only prob I have with iPads is their iOS is completely crippled in dealing with bigger screen. There is no multi-window support or a stylus input to take advantage of the screen. Irrespective of that iPad is still one of the best tablets on the market no doubt. So now just because i appreciated apple doesn't make me an iFan.

Did you see the Yoga 3 Pro which they unveiled ? Its a sexy beast. No need to buy any Surface or even tablets if you can shell a bit extra and buy the Yoga 3 Pro. Until now the fan was the only criteria (according to me) to differentiate a tablet from a Ultrabook but now with the intel M-Core which doesn't require any fan is implemented in Yoga Pro 3. There is no reason to not buy that beast unless you are too invested in the gaming world that is.

Oh. Didn't know they already unveiled that! Looks amazing! I need a new laptop anyway and I was gonna get a Vaio but can't find one anywhere anymore. Toshibas and Fujitsus high end models are way too expensive. But now this looks kinda appealing! Still not a real fan of that design, but it's ok and I know Lenovo makes quality stuff. Who knows maybe I'll get this one when it comes to Finland :) But that M-70 processor worries me. How does it compare to let's say i5?

Yup. I even I was at a point deciding between Yoga Pro and Vaio (flip) but since Sony has discontinued their Vaio business. You'll find it difficult in the long run to get servicing should you need in the future. Now, with regards to M70, I've been doing some reading and it is absolutely on par with i5 but not i7 (haswell). But the added advantage is the better GPU and is very power efficient since it even doesn't require fan. It is based on 14nm as against 22nm haswell. Its heat output is below 5 kw as against 11 of haswell. So yeah its a giant leap but its not really a gaming CPU. Its unveiled primarily to appeal to tablet and Ultrabook market. Intel at a press conference said that they'll release a similarly designed architectural chip for desktop sometime 1st/2nd Quarter 2015 which I think will be much more powerful. If you're someone who'll do gaming on your laptop/PC then I suggest you wait.

Yeah I'm not really expecting it to handle any heavy gaming, but good to know it's on par with mobile i5. It really is a big leap for laptops if they don't need any fans anymore. I think it might even make the device keep it's performance longer because there won't be any dust going inside the device. I'm really waiting for the reviews.

My point being the g pad was a very good tablet a year ago and still is in my point of view. The ipad is getting last years g pad specs but going to charge at least £400 for it. that's all.

No one knows about it though. Only iPads, Galaxy Tabs, and to a lesser extent surface tablets really matter. You posted that comment as a dig at apple, but what tablet is in more satisfied customers hands?

You made the perfect point. No one knows about it. Best tablet experience for me has been with the iPad and I have several tablets.

Exactly, people constantly bash Apple, but let's face it, Apple makes a damn good product. Not perfect, but damn good. All this blind hatred of Apple by some who've never even used their products is just stupid.

Yep. That's like with my Galaxy Note 10.1, it's not a bad tablet experience by any stretch. The iPad experience just happens to be better.

I dont think they are going to put 2gb ram because if they were ,then iphone 6 could have gotten too.And 1gb ram is enough if it works properly.

I see what you mean but there is an advantage to having 2GB in a device with a larger screen than one with a smaller one: it's easier to make the usability of true multitasking more beneficial on the larger screen of an iPad. Not that true multitasking can't be done on a 4.7" or 5.5" screen..just that one may argue that it serves more use on a 10" screen. One might also argue that increasing the screen size of the phone to then offer some type of split screen where each split is even smaller than the previous phone would be counterproductive. Also, these devices run smoothly on 1GB of RAM, yes, but if you introduce functionality that may or must make use of more RAM then it makes sense to add more RAM. Lastly, more RAM, hence more importantly the benefits that come with it (from developers), may give an iPhone 6 owner an added reason to also purchase an iPad.
