LG smartwatch visits the FCC; timepiece accepts Verizon CDMA SIM card
An unannounced LG smartwatch has visited the FCC. Model number "LG-VC200" appears to be a stand-alone model that doesn't require the timepiece to be paired with a smartphone to make phone calls. The watch accepts a Verizon SIM card that allows it to connect to Big Red's CDMA network. A rechargeable, but non-removable battery is aboard.

Besides connecting to Verizon's CDMA network, the watch supports Bluetooth 4.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi b/g connectivity. The FCC documentation listed a possible 3.5mm earphone jack. Wi-Fi direct functionality is disabled as is wireless hotspot functionality. There is no word on which OS will be in use on the timepiece.

All indications thus far point to this LG smartwatch being an exclusive for Verizon. With the FCC certification out of the way, we might be close to having this device made official by LG, and presumably Verizon.
