LG V20 expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo in North America in August
LG announced back in April that it has kicked off the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo to the G6, and that the G5 and V20 will follow soon. Well, it looks like “soon” won't be as soon as LG V20 owners would want to since the update won't arrive until August.

Unfortunately, the information hasn't been confirmed by LG, but at least one Canadian carrier claims Android 8.0 Oreo for the V20 is expected to arrive in August. Fido is one of the North American carriers that will offer the major Android update to LG V20 owners in about two months from now.

Since the V20 was launched back in 2016, it's likely that Oreo will be the last important Android OS update the flagship will receive, but it should continue to receive security updates for one more year or so.

Naturally, Fido won't the only North American carrier to update the LG V20 in the coming weeks, it's just the first that we hear about. It remains to see when the LG V20 Android 8.0 Oreo update will hit the United States and which carriers will offer it first.

Good to see LG is loosing Customers. That is the only reason they're even remembering Old devices. I think I recieved Oreo in November on my 3T. LG is almost an year late. I wish LG bursts into flames. Bcz I have owned LG twice. Not once but twice !! s**t..what a decision that was.

LG is on a downhill and their lazy update schedule makes it worse. It's hard to believe the LG G3 was the last flagship they updated more than once in a somewhat timely fashion. That's just ridiculous. I remember we purchased a G4 and it had pathetic update schedule, only 1 OS update to Marshmallow, while my aunt's G3 also received Marshmallow being 1 yr older.

They wanted to be first in race by launching the V20 with Nougat, then becoming last in race for Oreo. I agree about the single OS update not being enough, but with these timelines it makes sense to be their one and only OS update

Lol wow LG. I'll give them one more shot with the LG V40 which will most likely be Project Treble enabled hopefully meaning more timely updates in the future.

Meanwhile, Nokia will start pushing Android P to some of its phones in the same month of August.
