Huawei P9 video teaser is full of colors and action; don't blink or you'll miss it
All the way back in October, we passed along a interesting leak of a label meant for the Huawei P9. The label revealed that the phone would have dual cameras on back. And time moved forward so quickly, as it is wont to do, that in just two days the P9 will be unveiled to the public. The dual camera set up is a major part of the teasers sent out by the company, which uses a #OO hashtag to simulate the side-by-side placement of the Leica lenses on the rear of the phone.

Huawei Pakistan has released a 14 second video teaser that promotes the 12MP rear cameras. The video clip uses quick cuts and shows a number of images in the background that resemble the OO look of the dual cameras. At the end of the video comes the tag line, "Change the way you see the world." This obviously is a reference to the snappers on back of the phone.

According to a GFXBench benchmark test that we told you about earlier today, instead of being powered by the Kirin 950 SoC, the phone will contain the home grown Kirin 955 chipset. This will feature an octa-core 2.5GHz CPU and the Mali-T880 GPU.

You can check out the video teaser by clicking on the video below.

The camera of Huawei P9 comes with Ningbo Sunny sensor and Leica Summarit Lens . I am curious to see how it performs .

it will be a marketing gimmick, nothing major. Just like B&O attachment in Lg G5.

So it has one mono sensor and working on same principles with Linx's dual cam setup.

from the video, it is clear that one camera is color and the second is black and white. What is the benefit of this setup?

Mono sensors are thrice as light sensitive hence RGB color filters has filters 2 light particules out of every 3. That's mean better picture quality and better low light performance minus colors. Dual setup captures 2 set of image from both sensors and a software rebuilds a better quality colored picture.

if that's true then P9 will be under my radar for potential purchase.

Will Phonearena be doing a countdown/liveblog for the event? Or is that just a Apple/Samsung thing.

I think count down and live blog is reserved for famous companies.

so you consider Huawei as a non-famous company !!!

Even though they are still emerging in Western areas, they number 3 in shipments. Normally CNET covers most events, so it is not a big deal.

Kirin 955 contain Mali T880 Mp6 or same old mp4? I cannot see any benefit without any bump in GPU cores.

This is probably off topic but I found John V, he now works for Android Authority. Go to YouTube and search for the Android Authority channel.
