Google's
Helpouts concept is being graced with a dedicated app for iOS. The premise is simple - a bunch of experts in various fields have been vetted to participate in the service, and offer you remote assistance. Whether it is getting a sore throat prescription, replacing the brake pads of your car, needing a quick logo design being sketched, or asking for help how to bathe your newborn, the categories offered should have someone on call to help. The app gives you access to all the free help available, since the more advanced topics require a nominal fee.
The experts can help via videoconferencing, too, so that you interact with a real person in real time, and those can give you a more flexible advice than a guide you find online, or a friend that is willing, but not able to help.
