The iPhone Duo will be in stores in just a few days from now, and Apple is apparently planning something big. While availability of the phone will remain constrained, the company is going to go all out in promoting its foray into the foldable flagship market.
Largest promotion ever by Apple

According to a report (translated source), Apple is planning its largest ever promotion for the iPhone Duo across its physical stores. The company wants to treat the launch of its first foldable phone as a major industry-defining event, which it kind of is.
How has the iPhone Duo redefined the industry?

Marketing the merits of the iPhone Duo
Apparently, Apple plans to make sure that everyone visiting its stores gets to at least try the iPhone Duo themselves. Dozens of demo units will be set up across the company’s physical stores so that large numbers of visiting customers can get some hands-on time with the Duo.

In addition, the company apparently plans to market how the iPhone Duo is different from its rival foldable offerings. Given that CEO John Ternus, in a recent interview, said that early foldables felt “kind of cheap and crappy”, I don’t have high hopes that in-store promotion for the iPhone Duo will remain friendly in spirit.

Thankfully, Apple’s own customer base had critical (and hilarious) responses to Ternus's comment.

Heavily marketing something that’s in limited supply

Apple wants to heavily market something that is in very limited supply at the moment. Scalpers have gobbled up all iPhone Duo inventory and shipping dates have entered 2027.
Understandably, Apple wants to make a big deal about the iPhone Duo. After all, Apple fans have waited a very long time and the company’s entry into any field often leaves an industry-wide impact.
However…
I hope there’s no elitism around this

With what Ternus said about earlier foldables, and what Greg “Joz” Joswiak said about current rival folding phones, I’m wondering if in-store iPhone Duo promotion is just going to be a list of how Apple has done it better.
Yes, it’s a big deal that Apple has finally made a foldable iPhone. Let’s not turn it into a ridiculous battle between different companies, please. The iPhone Duo is a good phone, it’s not the best one there is. That is very subjective.
Apple is very proud of the iPhone Duo but it mishandled the launch:
Mint Mobile is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a special offer on its six-month subscription plans. For a limited time, you can get your preferred tier (6GB, 17GB, 23GB or unlimited) for just $10/mo. That saves you between 50% and 71% on the carrier's mobile plans, making it way easier to recommend.
