HTC rumored to launch its long-awaited smartwatch during the week of June 6th
At various times over the last few years, HTC has been rumored to be close to unveiling a smartwatch. Nothing would be announced, and there would be talk that the project was scrapped. This cycle would repeat until everyone pretty much gave up on the idea of HTC delivering an intelligent timepiece.

Today, we have word that the HTC smartwatch that tipster Evan Blass had earlier tweeted about, will be released during the week of June 6th. Last month, Blass had sent out a tweet calling for the device to be released before the end of April. Of course, that never happened.

This isn't the highly regarded tipster's first brush with a possible HTC smartwatch. Back in July 2014, he tweeted a render of an HTC smartwatch that he said was a "100% faithful reproduction" of the hardware. While the design of that watch was square, there soon was speculation that HTC would be offering a rounded timepiece similar to the Motorola Moto 360. Carrying a 360 x 360 resolution screen, this version of the rumored HTC smartwatch was powered by Android Wear. The device had a  code name of "Halfbeak."

As we ride the up phase of the latest HTC smartwatch cycle, let's hope that this time there is an intelligent timepiece from the manufacturer to talk about.
