HTC Media Link HD Demonstration

HTC Media Link HD Demonstration
Wanna stream those HD videos wirelessly from your HTC smartphone to your HDTV? That's easy, as long as you have the HTC Media Link HD. The accessory was on display at MWC 2012, so we didn't miss our chance to check it out while browsing through the HTC booth.

The HTC Media Link HD hooks up to an HDTV via HDMI and connects to a Wi-Fi network at the same time. Once connected to the same Wi-Fi network, an HTC smartphone can easily stream HD content to the TV set. Or if you prefer, it can work in mirrored mode so that whatever you see on the handset's screen is also displayed on the TV set. By the way, an HTC One X was used for the demonstration at MWC 2012, but we are pretty sure that other recent HTC smartphones will be compatible as well.

The guys at the HTC booth were kind enough to demonstrate the HTC Media Link HD for us, so here is the video of the accessory in action. Does it look like something you might have a good use for? Feel free to let us know by dropping a comment below.

I think there is a box that connects to your TV that allows the media link. Remember seeing it on one of the HTC's MWC article on PhoneArena. Please don't quote me though. My memory isn't good enough anymore XD

Please somebody show us how the mirroring works with the device! I have watched almost all the videos about this Media Link thing, but all they do is demonstrating how they can stream videos over wifi, which can already be done with a DLNA compatible tv anyway!!! I would like to see how it mirrors applications, games and internet browsing but thanks to HTC's super duper intelligent workers at MWC, we have no idea about any of these!

My GSII lags via MHL and that makes playing games with with my PS2 controller kind of suck. Was there lag while cloning the screen? And I have to say I know apple already has this but the 3 finger swipe to activate is one of the best things I've seen HTC come up with.

Kinda useful sometimes. But not really a "needed" feature. But of course it's better to have more features in your phone that you can't use than to have a need for a feature that your phone doesn't have. :p

Yes, it is a cool feature. For me personally it isn't useful. However, from professional stand point it could be very useful to give out presentations. Wouldn't mind sit on my bed and watch youtube videos on my 40 inch TV though.
