Google Nexus 9 preorders on Amazon live now for US, France, and Germany

Google Nexus 9 preorders on Amazon live now for US, France, and Germany
The Google Nexus 9 tablet was scheduled to go up for preorder tomorrow, but it looks like Amazon doesn't care much for Google's wishes. The Nexus 9 has already been listed for preorder by Amazon, and this isn't a localized event either. If you're interested in grabbing a Nexus 9 and you live in the US, France, or Germany, you can preorder right now through Amazon.

Everyone gets the choice between the white or black version of the Nexus 9, and the choice of either 16 or 32GB of storage, the only difference is in the price. In the US, the Nexus 9 will cost you $399 for the 16GB model, or $479 for the 32GB model. In France and Germany, the options will cost you €399 or €489 respectively. The French version of Amazon also lists the 32GB LTE model for €589 only in black, and supposedly shipping the same day as the Wi-Fi only, but we'll have to wait and see if that's a mistake or not.

We checked other Amazon sites for the UK, Canada, Spain, and Japan, but didn't see the Nexus 9 listed anywhere else. No matter what you choose, the ship date stays the same. Amazon may not care about when Google said to start preorders, but Amazon is listing the same ship date that Google stated of November 3rd.

The Nexus 9 and iPad Air 2 are both pretty boring tablets. The only reason the Nexus 9 is a tad more exciting is because we have been waiting for an update to the Nexus 10 for quite some time.

IMO Surface Pro 3 But that's 2-3x the price and more of a ultrabook than tablet So that's quite a bad/unfair comparison

I have the Pro 3 and yeah, I wouldn't call it a tablet. Even though I primarily use it in tablet form and it is just as thin and light as most new tablets, it is way more like an actual computer than tablet.

Why did Google have to price them so high?

because its not a year old specs anymore, instead its a year ahead specs now. if its too much for you, just buy nexus 7 2013. its still awesome. and alot cheaper now.

The Nexus 9 looks great! I just think they would sell so much more if they had a dual boot where you could choose between Chrome OS and Android 5.0 Sigh, oh well. Still, it's the best option of its kind on the market at the moment so I think I might have to get one.

Why would you ever want to use Chrome OS over Android 5.0???...

Oh, I don't know, maybe because I like using a physical keyboard and mouse when working with specific types of software.

Not really worth pre-ordering a Nexus 9. The price should keep demand down and there are too many unknowns at the moment. For example: How good is the audio output for headphone listening? How hot does the tablet get with the K1? How easy is it to root? How slimy is the plastic? 2GB RAM is also circa 2012 and doesn't make sense on a 64-bit tablet. No SD card is another slap in the face. There is also the question of the toolchain for the K1. I wonder how robust this will be compared to the toolchain for Qualcomm's 64-bit chips which will be available soon. Intel has been working on 64-bit Android for a long time, so I have few worries there. It seems like it may be a lot of fun to get on board Android L and 64-bit early, but if the Nexus 9 is not so great of a tablet, it may be more headache than it is worth.

You keep thinking, while others pre-order.

I've done my share of ordering and have a lot of tablets. Most of them have been a waste of time and money. The money is not the issue. Wasting time on a half baked tablet, that is something that one can never get back.

I feel like tablets are slowly going to take on the life cycles of our cars. Do you really need a new tablet even after 3 years? An Ipad 2 is still a very functional machine.

For tablet usage NO,for gaming/heavy multitasking, new updates need to upgrade. BTW I'm surprised you change your car after every 3 years. So tablet is cheaper than a car, you should have no problem with that mate.

I wasn't implying that. I just mean the time between tablets may be expanding and ultimately matching the life cycles of cars.

That's probably why tablet sales have slown down.

I have been holding out on buying my first tablet until a good high quality android based one was available, because I didn't want an apple. I preordered the Nexus 9 and can't wait for this beast tablet to arrive! Best tablet available. Awesome job Google and HTC.
