Google has just announced it will offer improved support for Assistant, but only in the United States. The changes should help
Google Assistant users get a better experience when looking for a house cleaner or information about local traffic.
More importantly, these improvements will be available for both Android and iOS users in the US, so no matter what smartphone you're using, you will now benefit from improved localized support when using
Google Assistant.
But how does this work? Let's say you're looking for an electrician via Google Assistant. Start by saying “
Ok Google, find me an electrician” to your Assistant. Then, the Assistant will ask you a few questions and to narrow down the results and it will eventually get you a list of some local options nearby.
These improvements will be rolled out in the US starting next week. Also, in many US cities, Google Assistant will suggest providers that have been prescreened by Google and other companies like HomeAdvisor and Porch, so whenever you get a list of results from the Assistant, you can be sure they're the best for the job.
