Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Flex 2 leaked in promo images

Fitbit is preparing to introduce the successors to its current Fitbit Flex and Fitbit Charge bands. There is no concrete info as of yet regarding launch dates, but some recently leaked images of the devices suggest November 27 as a possible date for their unveiling, at least.

Judging by the images, the Fitbit Charge 2 will have a significantly larger screen than its predecessor, which featured a tiny OLED display. The screen on the Fitbit Charge 2 seems to be several times bigger and much more akin to what we've seen from Samsung's Gear Fit series and the Microsoft Band. The Charge 2 will also feature a better heart rate sensor than its predecessor, implementing the PurePulse technology introduced with the Fitbit Charge HR, and will have interchangeable wristbands.

The Fitbit Flex 2 will retain its predecessor's status of a streamlined fitness tracking device, relying on four LEDs instead of a screen to convey information. It will likely come at a lower price, compared to the Fitbit Charge 2, and will be what the company refers to as “swim proof”. We don't know what that means exactly, as previous Fitbit devices have been water- and- moist-resistant at most, but the Fitbit Flex 2 might be the first to be fully waterproof.

There is no official word on price and launch date as of yet, but as we said above, in the leaked images the Fitbit Charge 2 has the date “Nov 27” on its screen, so that might be an indication for what's to come. There is also no information on battery life and price of the new wearables, but this will likely change as November 27 nears.
