Dolphin Browser HD gets new update to version 8.0
The latest version of the popular third party Dolphin Browser HD is now available for free downloading from the Google Play Store. The update brings a re-designed gesture bar and one touch access to the Sonar voice search. A translucent button in the lower left of the screen will take you to Sonar when pressed and you can switch to Gestures by clicking on a button at the bottom of the screen. Previously, Dolphin Browser users would shake their handset in order to get to the voice-activated feature. Dolphin decided to make the change because they discovered that most users were using the voice-activated search than Gestures.

Dolphin has also updated its menu. For bookmarks, swipe from left to right on the bottom of a web page, while swiping right to left brings up the Add-on Sidebar. As many of you Dolphin Browser HD users know, there are many add-ons available for the browser ranging from Dolphin Translate to an add-on that takes screenshots of web pages.

Dolphin has also added a new menu when you long-press on a web page. You are given three options, Select Text, Find on Page, or Close Tab. The first choice allows you to copy, search, share or translate that particular section of text. The other two choices are self-explanatory. A version of the browser is available for iOS users although on that platform, Sonar is a 99 cent add-on.
