FCC gets visit from Google Glass Enterprise Edition
The Enterprise Edition of Google Glass has visited the FCC, and pictures from the agency reveal the new look of the wearable. While the device might find a way back into the consumer market someday, right now the Enterprise Edition is targeted to those in the health industry, energy business, and manufacturers. We first told you about this new version of Glass back in July, and things like the improved battery life, and the use of an Intel Atom processor were revealed at that time. An external battery pack, which we also mentioned back in July, will be available.

One major improvement engineered into the next iteration of Google Glass is its ability to be folded up to save space. There is also an improvement in the management of heat, and the inclusion of a 5GHz Wi-Fi band that will be used for video streaming applications. One change that even casual Glass fans might notice, is the larger prism on the new model. As we mentioned in July, this will allow Glass users to view the screen by looking up instead of looking to the right and up.

Other changes include a more conveniently placed power button, and a front light that turns on when the camera is being used. In addition, the Enterprise Edition of Google Glass is waterproof.

The connected specs will be available from Glass for Work startups that will install proprietary software on the Enterprise Edition of the wearable before distributing them. These startups have already been handing out Google Glass Enterprise Edition units to "hundreds of people" even though Google has yet to officially introduce the product or acknowledge its existence.
While consumers won't get the chance to purchase the new Google Glass, at least not for now, you can check out the FCC pictures of the redesigned wearable by clicking on the slideshow below.
