Asus ZenFone 3 Max starts receiving ZenUI 4.0, but you'll still have to wait for Oreo

Asus continues to upgrade some of its smartphone with new software that should have been part of these devices in the first place. ZenUI 4.0 is the new user interface that Asus plans to implements in all its smartphones going forward, but some older devices will be updated with the new UI even if they didn't have it initially.

About two weeks ago, Asus pushed out ZenUI 4.0 to the ZenFone 4 Max and promised other smartphones in the series will get the new UI as well. Earlier this week, the company started to roll out a new update to the ZenFone 3 Max, which contains ZenUI 4.0

The new ZenUI 4.0 is much lighter on the bloatware that Asus usually puts on its smartphones, so it makes sense for Asus fans to want it on their devices as soon as possible.

Aside from less bloatware, ZenUI 4.0 includes a new Game Genie mode that should provide increased performance and macro creation, a brand new Gallery app, as well as some visual changes.

The ZenFone 3 Max might not be the last Asus smartphone to receive the ZenUI 4.0, so if you have an older ZenFone series handset, you can hope the new UI will come to your phone as well.
