Apple's 4-inch iPhone SE may feature 4K video recording

Apple's 4-inch iPhone SE may feature 4K video recording
According to a rumor revealed today by Apple Insider, the upcoming iPhone SE (previously known as iPhone 5se) could come with a rear camera that features 4K video recording. Reportedly, Apple is planning to release a promo video that showcases 4K footage shot entirely on the new iPhone model - likely making this one of the device's highlight features

If this rumor turns out to be accurate, the iPhone SE will become Apple's third smartphone to offer 4K video recording, after the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus from last year. As previously reported, the iPhone SE is expected to have a 12 MP rear camera with dual LED flash - this might be the very same unit that can be found inside the iPhone 6s. Another thing that the iPhone SE and the 6s series may have in common is the processor: Apple's dual-core A9.

Like the iPhone 5s, which is now over 2 years old, the iPhone SE should sport a 4-inch display (its pixel resolution isn't known, but we assume it's 640 x 1136, just like on the 5s). Apple allegedly intends to sell the iPhone SE at prices similar to those of the iPhone 5s - starting at around $450. Needless to say, we expect the 5s to be discontinued once the SE hits shelves.

Most likely, the iPhone SE will be officially announced next week, on March 21, when Apple might also unveil a brand new iPad Air. So, who's waiting for these next-gen Apple devices?

I vote for 8Go, because Apple said ICloud is awesome.

8gigs of non-expandable storage? Will you be able to access the iCloud 24/7? Or even have good internet connection everywhere you go? Just because Apple said 8GB is awesome? Wow... :O

That's enough space for may 3 4k videos. Just no. Why even waste the time and money making something that will come out the box useless? Are you really goign to sit and upload a huge 4K movie file? I doubt it. I have better things I can use my time doing.

You might see it coming out of the box useless. And honestly, I do see it that way. But you can question Apple on why they "waste time and money making something that will come out of the box useless". I mean, Apple runs it's business and produces iPhones however it wants!

Edit: ... But you CAN'T question Apple...

That's not true. You can only for ONE 4K video on an 8GB phone. And only ONE 4K video on a 128GB phone. See, iPhones let you record 4K continuously nonstop until the space runs out unlike some others which are limited to 5 minutes or the phone will overheat or something.

Smart thing to do. I don't think Apple, or any other company for that matter, should skimp on the quality or the hrdware in the smaller versions of their flagships.

It's a 4 inch phone. Most phones at this screen size is only low-end devices and usually only records 720p. Phone manufacturers should know that not all people have big hands.

You know what I just relized, the iPhone SE will probably end up having the highest Antutu score once it's release, I'll be surprised if it didn't since the resolution will be so low.

Highest Antutu score with that A9 chipset? Even the Xperia Z5 compact with SD810 and 720p will stay ahead of the iPhone SE in Antutu.

The A9 is the chip that's in the 6s and 6s plus and they get scores Higher than 130k. Th iPhone SE is bound to score higher because it has a lower resolution that the 6s. The Z5c will get crushed by the SE just like it gets crushed by the 6s and 6s plus.

Are you talking about the crappy AnTuTu 6? Talk about a more reasonable AnTuTu version like 5.7! And you'll know I'm right when saying iPhone SE will be inferior in score.

Bruh you must be SRK that Apple hating lunatic that never quits trolling Apple related articles. Duh I talking antutu 6 because there isn't another one lol and you know the A9 chipset is a monster even before Antutu 6 other benchmarks had it ranking high like GFX and GeekBench. So take your SRK trolling ass on somewhere and get off my dick because i'm tired of you replying to my damn comments.

Yeah, I've wondered this for a while, if benchmarks actually make aware of the resolution difference, supposable the 'off-screen' stuff wouldn't be affected by resolution but everything else?

I still do not see the iPhone SE crushing that much. AnTuTu benchmarks the overall components in the phone, not just the chipset. Remember that. Apple A9, yeah... But paired with howmuch RAM? Storage?

20. Arch_Fiend

Posts: 3951; Member since: Oct 03, 2015

The SE is suppose to have the same specs as the 6s and even if it has 1gb of ram it will still crush it in Antutu.

well yes, but exactly because of that, overall. And every test is rendered on screen, despite how much/little effort this might take it is a factor.

Even if it does who gives a crap about benchmarks

I don't really care for them but I still like to run them, they help put things in perspective.
