Apple to out iOS 4.2 on Friday
Apple's expected iOS 4.2 update is rumored to come out on Friday bringing multi-tasking to the iPad, speed boost to the iPhone 3G and the all-new AirPlay and AirPrint functionalities.

A source close with AT&T brought out Friday, November 12th at 10AM PST as the release date for the iOS update. Apple came up earlier with a statement that iOS will be released in November but gave no more details. It was also rumored that iTunes and Mac OS X are due sometime today reaching versions 10.1 and 10.6.5, respectively. If those updates roll out on time, Friday could well be the date for the new iOS. Gold Master, a release candidate for iOS 4.2, was revealed to developers in the past week and two days ago Mac OS X 10.6.5 was made available to developers as well.

The new update to iOS will bring multitasking and folders to the iPad, features already present on the iPhone and iPod touch. The all new features include AirPrint, which will allow printing with compliant wireless printers skipping through the hassle of installing drivers, and AirPlay with its over-the-air streaming of music to compatible speakers.
