Apple rumored to release iOS 10.3.1 beta on January 10th with new Theater mode
According to a couple of tweets from Apple tipster Sonny Dickson, who earned his stripes by leaking Apple iPhone 5c dummy units back in the day, Apple will be sending out the first beta for iOS 10.3 next month. The date will be January 10th, to be exact. It will come with a new feature called Theater mode which will have a popcorn shaped icon in the control center.

So what will Theater mode do? It could work like this; let's say you're about to walk into a crowded theater. To maintain the peace, going into Theater mode could quickly disable all of the sounds and features that would be annoying to others in the theater. That includes blocking incoming calls and texts, lowering the brightness of the screen, and disabling notification rings and alerts. While Theater mode would most likely be turned on manually by the iPhone owner as he/she enters the theater, back in 2012 Apple received patents on location-aware settings for iOS that would be activated by GPS. These were called "enforcement policies."

Earlier this month, Apple released iOS 10.2 which featured the latest Unicode 9 emoji, a new celebration effect for texts sent in Messages, one tap authentication of your cable or satellite subscription for streaming video and audio apps, and an Emergency SOS feature that calls for help after five taps of the power button.
