Apple rumored to release iOS 10.3.1 beta on January 10th with new Theater mode

Apple rumored to release iOS 10.3.1 beta on January 10th with new Theater mode
According to a couple of tweets from Apple tipster Sonny Dickson, who earned his stripes by leaking Apple iPhone 5c dummy units back in the day, Apple will be sending out the first beta for iOS 10.3 next month. The date will be January 10th, to be exact. It will come with a new feature called Theater mode which will have a popcorn shaped icon in the control center.

So what will Theater mode do? It could work like this; let's say you're about to walk into a crowded theater. To maintain the peace, going into Theater mode could quickly disable all of the sounds and features that would be annoying to others in the theater. That includes blocking incoming calls and texts, lowering the brightness of the screen, and disabling notification rings and alerts. While Theater mode would most likely be turned on manually by the iPhone owner as he/she enters the theater, back in 2012 Apple received patents on location-aware settings for iOS that would be activated by GPS. These were called "enforcement policies."

Earlier this month, Apple released iOS 10.2 which featured the latest Unicode 9 emoji, a new celebration effect for texts sent in Messages, one tap authentication of your cable or satellite subscription for streaming video and audio apps, and an Emergency SOS feature that calls for help after five taps of the power button.

Theatre mode LOLLL. Just flip the vibrate switch, on turn on do not disturb. Apple stop this crap, and add some actual useful features. But hey...others will follow.

No one knows what it will do. They are simply speculating. Others are speculating it will be a dark UI mode for the core apps and OS level. This will set the stage for an OLED iPhone later next year. No one is claiming to know what theater mode does, phonearena is just guessing. I would imagine that theater mode would be different then what they said as DND does the trick already.

You know what "airplane mode" does...right? Theartre Mode sounds exactly the same, but with extra things being hampered like display brightness. LIKE THEY SAID.

I hope not, willingly opening up for your device being controlled by some random mode some person sets up, what's next?, phones automatically unlock when at police station? Yes, that's an extreme example, but it is just one of the things that can be done. People should just turn off their damn devices, and at least here in Denmark, if you are disruptive, you are thrown out, and if your movie experience is ruined by disruptive people that aren't thrown out? movie theatre has to either give you a new ticket, or refund you, regardless of how much of the movie you did watch. Of course you can't sit through the whole and then say it was disruptive, you need to get ahold of them when it happens not after.

Android Wear has had Theater Mode built in for over a year now. But, I wouldn't expect someone as ignorant as yourself to know that.

Yes because dozens of phones don't already have dark mode built in or at least theming capabilities to deliver dark mode/s.

Your catch phrase belongs to me now. It only matters when I post it.

And as usual, many will follow one or more years before Apple invents it.

Can Theater Mode be configured? Like to set up custom geo-fencing .... for some this can be "church mode"

Updates upon updates yet my iPad air hasn't changed one bit. It's like only the number game matters to Apple.

Why you always skip two or iPhone explosion? But always seem to find unknown Samsung ones http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/747849/iPhone-6-SE-exploded-burn-flames

Iphone 6, exploded because of faulty body that bends over time causing the battery to do this. Other hand, perfectly functioning galaxy devices catching fire out of no where and swelling out of no where so maybe some Galaxy devices inheritly have internal issues that arise over time, reason why we have seen so many Galaxy S6 and S7 and obv Note 7's exploding and catching fire Samsung might have a terrible problem on their hands here

"Iphone 6, exploded because of faulty body that bends over time causing the battery to do this" So that makes it OK?

An update for a useless feature, an update that will simply not allow you to use your phone. So why even pull you phone out of your pocket? I guess Apple doesn't have much to do that can only come up with some dumb updates that w ill eventually screw up other features as always.

Theater mode is actually a dark theme for iOS 10. It has NOTHING to do with turning off notifications or sounds or dealing with being in an actual theater.
