Apple Watch wins iF Design Award 2015, appears on the cover of Chinese fashion mag YOHO!
Even though it has yet to reach the public, the Apple Watch has received an iF Design Award 2015, Discipline Product-Gold. Some of the standout features mentioned on iF's website include the innovative Digital Crown used for Navigation. Force Touch knows the difference between a tap and a harder press. And the Taptic Engine gets a shout out for allowing users to know information about a notification based on vibrations you can hear and feel.
The Apple Watch is expected to be the subject of the "Spring Ahead" media event taking place on March 9th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco. We should find out more information about the timepiece that we didn't learn when the watch was first unveiled. For example, after the $349 price for the entry-level sport model, how much are the mid-range and high-end models? Also, what exactly is the battery life on the device and how water-resistant is it? Hopefully, we will find out the answers to these questions and also get told the specific launch date.
The Apple Watch has been on a few covers recently, including versions of Vogue in Paris and the U.S. Now, you can find the device on the wrist of Chinese actor Archie Kao on the cover of Chinese fashion mag YOHO! If Kao looks familiar, you might have seen him on Chicago P.D., CSI or Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. That the Apple Watch has been featured on such magazine covers is no surprise; Apple has been positioning its timepiece as both a fashion and technological icon.
Thanks for the tip!
