Apple Watch Series 3 apps now track snowboarding and skiing activities

0comments

Apple has announced that as of today, users can track skiing and snowboarding activities on their Apple Watch through the use of third-party apps. There's a catch, though – you have to own the Apple Watch Series 3 to enjoy the new feature.

The apps that were updated to use the new feature are Snocru, snoww, Slopes, Squaw Alpine and Ski Tracks. All of them use the Apple Watch Series 3 exclusive altimeter, which tracks altitude levels.

Stats, that will be tracked while you enjoy your time on the ski / snowboarding slopes, are:

  • Vertical descent and horizontal distance
  • Speed – average and maximum
  • Time spent in action
  • Calories burned
  • Number of runs

What's more, all the data gathered will be directly input into the Health app, where you can track the stats and fill up your Activity Challenge ring. And to make things even better, all apps can be controlled using Siri.
