Another US carrier starts rolling out Android 9.0 Pie for Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+

It looks like Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are about to receive Android 9.0 Pie updates in the United States. Although we don't have official word coming from either of the four major US carriers, Sprint users report the update is now available for the Galaxy S8+.

We now have information about another US carrier that has kicked off the Android 9.0 Pie roll-out to the Galaxy S8/S8+, but it not one of the big four. Spotted by AndroidSoul on reddit, the update seems to be deployed by Boost Mobile, a smaller US carrier. Even so, this is clearly a sign that Samsung will soon start a wider Android 9.0 Pie roll-out in the United States.

The update contains the One UI for Android Pie and the latest March security patch. We also know that the Android 9.0 Pie update for the Galaxy S8/S8+ weighs in at around 1.6GB, so make sure you have enough free storage available.

The official changelog mentions that it's recommended to back up your important data to keep it safe before the upgrade, but, usually, these updates don't delete anything from your phone.
