Amazon's Kindle in the works for Windows Mobile?
The cat isn't out of the bag yet, but Amazon's latest job postings may hint to some sort of relationship with the Windows Mobile platform. Amazon has been getting some brisk sales of the Kindle, but may be looking to increase it by expanding to other platforms. Microsoft's Window Mobile has not received the same love as others like the Amazon MP3 store on Android and the Kindle app for the iPhone. It appears that they are trying to recruit a team of mobile and software engineers to release a program to give Windows Mobile users an e-book reader. And by increasing its presence to other operating system, they are able to generate more revenue from sales of mobile applications. There are roughly 17 open mobile-related positions on its web site that range from software engineers, a senior product manager for mobile payments, and a director of mobile applications. No official word from Amazon if these rumors are true.
